The bathrooms we see around Doylestown
Doylestown-area bathrooms tend to fall into two groups. The first is the 1980s-to-2000s colonial in Doylestown Township, Buckingham, Warrington or Warwick: a primary bath with a large drop-in or jetted corner tub that rarely gets used, a fiberglass shower stall, cultured-marble vanity tops and 12-inch builder tile. These rooms usually have reasonable square footage, so the job is about reassigning it, often trading the tub deck for a larger walk-in shower with a bench.
The second group is older: Victorian and early-1900s houses inside the borough, and stone farmhouses in Plumstead, Solebury and Buckingham where a bathroom was carved out of a bedroom or a rear addition long after the house was built. Walls can be well out of plumb, floors may slope toward an outside wall, and drain lines sometimes run through spots nobody would pick today. We plan the tile layout around those conditions and open walls expecting to find earlier repairs that need straightening out.
Outside the borough, many homes are on private wells. Hard or iron-rich water leaves mineral film and orange staining on grout, glass and fixtures, so we talk through grout type, glass choices and fixture finishes with your water in mind.
